My Education
I’m a graduate of Portland State University, where I received the degree of Master of Science in Counseling. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from the University of Mississippi in Oxford, Mississippi, as well as a Master of Arts in Theological Studies from Covenant Theological Seminary in Saint Louis, Missouri.
As a licensed professional counselor, I maintain my required continuing education hours, and often pursue more training than is required. This is an exciting field that is continually expanding as scientists learn more about the brain. I enjoy staying up to date with new research and interventions, and also appreciate and learn from the vast wisdom of psychology, philosophy, literature, sociology, and theology that is timeless. My post-graduate training includes, Emotionally Focused Therapy for Couples and for Individuals, Gottman Method, Interpersonal Neurobiology, Attachment and Trauma Mastery, and Shame and Trauma.
My Story
I am a native Southerner who now happily calls Portland home. I’m a wife, a mother, a dog mama, and a voracious reader. I enjoy time with family and friends, my sweet pup Dixie Rose, reading, college football, and traveling this beautiful planet of ours. Counseling is a second career for me. I am beyond grateful I get to do work that I love.
